Monday's Plan forA Quilt

Now-a-days......   making a quilt starts with an idea.... a vision.....someone's wishful statement....  "I wonder if ....."

So, a dear friend presented the idea as a finished display of a full size artistic quilt which would be placed under glass and permanently displayed in our church foyer!    And the date ?   January 2019!

Chevron Comfy Throw

Red white and blue fabric makes this blue and white/Chevron panel a real jewel!!
It measures.  54 1/2" x  74",  The outer red border 3 1/2" .... and the first and second inner borders measure 1 1/2".   I used my Pounce template for a specialty spiral on the outer border.... and then changed to a large circular quilting design for the inner portion of the quilt!

Almost completed --  binding matches the second inner border!  ... now for a label and a  possibly a hanging sleeve (should I want to hang this in a display)!!

Small -- Great -- Things

My end of year read .......  a bit of ongoing espionage and savage killing by Lee Child's "Night School" by the bedside each night....

Then there is my BOOK ON CD -- listening in my car driving adventures about town ...Small Great Things by    ....  I checked up on the Goodreads as such....
.........Ruth hesitates before performing CPR and, as a result, is charged with a serious crime. Kennedy McQuarrie, a white public defender, takes her case but gives unexpected advice: Kennedy insists that mentioning race in the courtroom is not a winning strategy. Conflicted by Kennedy's counsel, Ruth tries to keep life as normal as possible for her family—especially her teenage son—as the case becomes a media sensation. As the trial moves forward, Ruth and Kennedy must gain each other's trust, and come to see that what they've been taught their whole lives about others—and themselves—might be wrong.
With incredible empathy, intelligence, a
nd candor, Jodi Picoult tackles race, privilege, prejudice, justice, and compassion—and doesn't offer easy answers........
