Face Recognition in Quilted Art Work

I met a girl - and we became friends!  I hold her dear—hoping she even remembers her impact!!!!

Here is where the crossing of paths has taken me!!!

I am always tuned into anybody’s CALL FOR ARTISTS…..  so it’s the third year entrepreneur Jaybee seeks to honor Oklahoma’s Clara Luper!

It was early in her career Lola Jenkins was excited in seeing, layering and making thread highlighted face art quilts!

She was my first in home lesson/teacher in copying n enlarging and shading of a face portrait!   2012 maybe or earlier…. I sat with her and wow.  I’m thankful dear Lola!

Here’s my growing better (bit by bit). My WIP quilt photo

Creatives, Peace and Beautiful Art Quiltworks

Hello quilty friends.
Quiltin is a great form of self-care!

During Our time together—KSR and I  mentally leaned into our artistic feelings, we became random in experimenting in combining and contrasting fabric skin tones.  We would smile deeply, share our kids life stories— weaving narratives from our grandparents as well!

I’ve begun to crop and redo my 4.327 photos on my phone!  WHY??

It’s my effort to protect our identity and family life.  As well as Our quilted artworks !  We know God has a future for us!

Always deep appreciation for my quilty friends for sharing Bquiltin Studio today!

Creativity Takes Time

Creativity takes time —- a place — and space!!!  So we-two girlfriends sat and played with our fabric collage today! She and I gathered some 13-14 years ago in this same NW Neighborhood building…. she created her first log cabin quilt!!

Exhibited in several state venues, state fairs over the years.  Recent Juneteenth STQG 2024 Quilt Show!

Lessons on String Quilts

 Hello Dear Quilt Friends!

Yes I have ziplock backs full of my precise, clean and fresh leftover fabric pieces from maybe pre-Covid days!

So, I'm teaching class at my wellness center,,,, and a good many sewists and quilt folk are donating fabric!!!

What’s a girl like me to do🌺🌺🌺🌺???  Happy dilemma!

Lessons on String Quilts!

“Strings” are all those leftover fabric strips and pieces that float around everyone’s sewing room. String quilts are simply quilts made from your longer fabric scraps.

To make a string quilt, you start with a foundation fabric or foundation paper, then use an easy sew-and-flip technique to attach strips and scraps to the foundation until the scraps completely cover the foundation.

That’s all there is to it! There’s no fussy measuring, no templates to follow, no precision cutting, no pattern to worry about. The freedom to choose colors and run crooked a bit is my favorite part of making blocks!

Stay and visit again for my HOW-TO TUTORIAL!!!

Sunday-After Midnight Sewing

Just another snapshot-Dear Quilt Friends!   Yes it’s a sacred days to worship inwardly—and to reflect and give thanks for blessing and keeping USA and my family safe!

Superbly-I cut and measure and trims… square up, and these four mark a beginning of a 12.5 inch Log Cabin!

I followed Eleanor Burns with precise 1.3/4 inch strips!!!!

This is my internet inspiration—age old classic.  My center black squares are 2.5.  Stands out a bit

Late and be well my friends!!!
