Winter Snowball Quilt is a Winner

                 Snowball Quilt

I taught this at my second beginner class project in abt February of 2025 at the NE Wellness & Community Center - OKC.

I changed the HST to meet and greet.... as a quilter I knew I'd have to re-do the blocks to get this effect.   So near the end.... but it took a minute!

pieced and machine stitched:    size 64” x 78

Side-Line Quilt Start-up

When have you missed a day of quilting?   Well, I fought the 3-day flu bug (longer) and I did not quilt.  OH MY!!

But my inspiration is still kicking.    I want to SIDELINE-START … the exploding heart quilt….   And another take on the Disappearing Nine Patch!    In fact it’s a Missouri Star…. But I REFUSE to pay pdf.  I’m thinking I’m good enuf (hmnnnn)😄😄😄 to recreate this beauty

I visited my longarm lady(I’m loving her!!!) and her design wall was my show n tell!  Then a couple of YouTube videos.

I went ahead and///cheated in biting a 10” cake for $40!!

X's & O's Just for you ~ Hugs and Kisses

This,
My darling -- measures 60" x 60" as a square.

This quilt trip ---  began back in January 2024 @ the NE Community Wellness Center, NE OKC as I taught my (I'm possessive of this ladies....)... this wonderful group of first-time quilters.   Oh and did they ever learn!

The age-old Hugs and Kisses pattern was adaptable starting with the 7" square and the 4" squares being made into HST's.

I worked at OK Quiltworks and the bolted fabric had several rows of varied oranges.... so it was a cinch to use.  The individual X/O's made a 13" block four across and four down.

So here I am... a year later teaching a new SNOWBALL beginner quilt pattern for a new group of ladies!

Thus, I decided to take this quilt top and add the batting and backing!

The backing was my inspiration!!!!!  It was a gift of six yards of YARDSALE African fabric stash-give away!   Dropped off at my front door last month.

The Lord has a really really nifty way of bringing all things together.... for good, for joy and comfort!

African Elephants and Masked-Women ( I imagine) all with just the right tinge of orange
Now... I'm pulling out my heart strings.....
I love Ann.
I love the quilt!
PERFECT MATCH!

Keep Stitchin' My friend!

I Feel the Quilt Story In Me

Some late pm’s… I just have to cut and piece together one of my To-do wish list!

Well my intensity in learning this curvy log cabin!  I’m NOT buying a pattern-pdf-nada!  This was hung in a quilt show… and boy oh boy—- I studied it’’’’’ I took close pictures to count the rows, placement and center block—looked around online…

I love me!!!!!

Wha’ do ya think….  First four for the center.  Oddly… it’s a traditional quilt!

Mind you—-I have a “hankering” to go deep into African prints—into faces—and protest messages via hope n survival….

But right now it’s structure and precision—-JUST HOLD STEADY GIRLFRIEND.  QUILT ON!!!
