Calaboose Museum (TX)
Hello Quilt Friends.... here's what I learned this weekend as a genealogy spin-off!
The Calaboose African American History Museum (CAAHM) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit museum in San Marcos, Texas. CAAHM was founded in 1997 by Mrs. Johnnie Armstead to collect, preserve, and interpret authentic African American artifacts related to San Marcos and Hays County history.
The purpose of the organization is to inform and educate all citizens about the many accomplishments, contributions and experiences of African Americans in San Marcos and Hays County.
