Over the last 14 months…This has been an awesome curated journey for the five of us!!!

I vividly remember the first of our gatherings… at the Nora Hulsey Gallery (OCU Campus, OKC)   The room was painted black for this luminous circle dilly-o !  We chatted and began pacing ourselves for HIGH CRAFT October 30-2023!!!  I wasn’t sure WHO Lawrence Naff would be…..  missing in pic!  (L to R)  Amy -Maria Anderson-Ann Solenski- and me!

Precision Piecing

I am oooohhhhh so comfortable..  rotary cutting, great seam allowances and block construction

Putting the strips of color together!!

I’ve had major excitement with HIGH CRAFT… the challenge of artistic-narrative quilt art

But…re-entering and re-sorting my everywhere gorgeous soothing fabric….  I want to make a quilt.  Patterns I’ve save…….  Wanting to DO!    So today was a good single block day!

Finished In A Big Way 2023!

NOTES FROM Inclusion In Art:  thanks to all the artists participating in this exhibition as it has truly been a wonderful experience.

Artists Maria Do Anderson, Beverly Huggins Kirk, Lawrence Naff, Ann Solinski, and Amy Young, have formed a real bond that will continue to grow and evolve. We are so excited to see more from them in the future.

Inclusion In Art would also like to give a big thank you to the High Craft Curatorial Committee, without their hard work and dedication this project would not have been a success.

Inclusion In Art thanks Heather Lunsford and Oklahoma City University, for the opportunity to use the incredible space at the Norick Art Center’s Nona Jean Husley Gallery.

The organization provides exhibitions, practical arts programming, workshops, and professional development.
