I'm in a slight dilemna, it's always easy to take a photo image and frame it into a quilt... But in talking with Dr. Mazloomi... Her exhibit and quilt book should chronicle the African American JOURNEY in the USA which culminates in the election of #44.
This is a jean quilt in the works with T-shirt images of MLK and Obama and wording all around!
So, I'm really pulled towards taking a basic pointed star pattern or a medallion center - around which I can pull in images of Justice, Freedom, Struggles in Medicine, Law, Education.... along with our Inventors and Musicians Louie Armstrong, & Marian Anderson, Boxer Jack Jackson, Air Pilot Black Lady. Postal stamps are legendary for a show of our successes.
