It is proudly.... (ain't no stopping me now...) it's majestically magical....   This was my appliance and cooking dish cabinet ---   IT IS NOW MY FABRIC CLOSET.... located just outside my sewing room!

The Nitty Gritty: a Blanket or a Quilt?

HI there... m'lady friends & guys!!!

How exactly . . . is a quilt different from a blanket?

Well, I'd say that its like two blankets sewn together with padding in between (sandwich).  The stitching that keeps the padding in place creates a pattern that makes for an added dimension of " catch-you-breath eye candy"

The bquiltin shows thru the top and bottom of the sandwich quilt -- and when I longarm stitch, it is an inviting pattern matched by color, swirls, symbols and even a narrative stitched into the quilt!!!

My Focus on Paper Piecing 2022

My easy reference is Paper Piecing.  More correctly it is FOUNDATION PAPER PIECING:  a method where patterns have been printed on paper for you the piece quilt blocks.  

Yes.. luv it.  You and I can actually sew on the paper and the fabric at the same time-- takes a few skillful times to rearrange you brain focus!!... this means that FPPe foundation paper piecing is a method that uses patterns printed on paper to piece quilt blocks. You actually sew on the paper and the fabric at the same time. Using this technique you can achieve more accurate and intricate quilt block patterns.

It's a FINISH.... longarm stitch was a bit faster and I enjoyed the side border (6 inches) in a freehand loop

Total finished abt 12 squares and abt 2.5' sashing and inner borders = SIZE 67" x 68".  A familiar UNDERGROUND RAILROAD QUILT (Vaughn)  10-6-2020
