Collectible Sewing Cases...... Heart Warmer!

Yes, we sewists/quilters are a special breed.    Only for US would the heart soften to the touch of a safety pin, wrapped thread and a threader....

But, I didn't know what it was..... as I searched an empty desk for some tape....

local credit union giveaway... hmnnnn.... pop open... oh what a surpise

Luv it!!!

Recently, my oldest daughter asked me to sew a button on her coat.... I scoffed... u don't know how........
She said "YES MOM"..... I have a sewing kit with thread...(itty bitty kit not made for a big job).... but I guess the plain thread is not strong enough for a wool coat..... hmnnn!

Now.... even even I made my kids a real sewing kit.... THEY PROBABLY WOULDN'T APPRECIATE IT!!!   NEW DAY KIDS!!!

God's Love

“Those who are filled with the love of Christ do not seek to force others to do better; they inspire others to do better, indeed inspire them to the pursuit of God. We need to extend the hand of friendship. We need to be kinder, more gentle, more forgiving, and slower to anger”(Ensign, May 1992)

A Poem by Emily Dickenson

Hope
Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune--without the words,
And never stops at all,
And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.

I've heard it in the chillest land,
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.

Atelier Around the World ~ Speak Lord to Me!

Atelier Around the World is a community outreach visual arts program serving children ages 5 to 16 from primarily low wealth communities. Established in 1993, the youth program is designed to enhance self-esteem and promote cultural awareness through the visual arts.

The year round program has three prongs and utilizes trained artists/professionals and teachers to provide arts instruction and creative activities through: "Adopt a School-Art After School" programs, Saturday Enrichment workshops and a three week summer camp “Murals, Minds, and Communities.” The after school and Saturday art programs operate for seven months during the year in schools, YMCA community sites and in the Greensboro Cultural Center. Students are exposed to a wide range of artistic processes and techniques including paper making, mask making, collage, crafts, drawing, painting, cartooning, fabric design and construction. Sculpture and ceramics. The Summer Arts camp culminates in an exhibition showcasing their work
