Timeless Thursday ~ a quiltin'

 Hello world of fellow quilters.....  Thought I might share some finished treasures from 2012-2013-2014...   my the years do fly.  Since my blog has been around since 2009-I think.... this might be a bit of reposting.

I think I'll let the quilted images speak for themselves for today.

 This is in the making....... I feel like savoring... and saving it for someday....only when I say so!

 This is a daughters quilt project.... that I simply have to applique the berries only the log cabin blocks.

"The Journey of Hope in America: Quilts Inspired by President Barack Obama"

The National Afro-American Museaum and Cultural Center in Wilberforce, Ohio is hosting the exhibit "The Journey of Hope in America: Quilts Inspired by President Barack Obama" from December 18, 2009 untio December 2010.

I was one of over ninety quilt artists whose work was accepted for submission to Dr. Carolyn Mazloomi, curator, and founder of Women of Color Network. I am so thankful to her dedication and vision  -- it is  rare opportunity to share my quilt  in this beautiful quilting adventure!

Congratulations to all the quilters with pieces in the show!

The Women of Color Quilters Network is a non-profit organization* founded in 1985 by Carolyn L. Mazloomi, a nationally acclaimed quilt artist and lecturer, to foster and preserve the art of quiltmaking among women of color.It supports its membership through presentations, providing venues for sharing technical information, grant writing, and other services. It offers quilts and fiber art to museums for exhibition, and researches and documents African American quiltmaking.

In recent years, the Network has showcased the work of its members before national and international audiences.An important component of the network's activity is its use of quiltmaking in social and economic development projects. Educational projects and workshops foster exposure to the arts, creative development, and improved self-esteem.
